Winter Activities

Don't listen when people say that there is nothing to do in the Winter. In and around Lake Park you can go Ice Fishing, Cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, trapping, hiking and so much more. Winter is truly a very active time of the year for many Minnesotans.

Spring Activities

The outdoors in the Spring bring several options for you to enjoy the great outdoors. Golf Courses usually open by the middle of April, lakes open up for fishing and flowers are blooming in the State Parks. You don't want to miss-out on Spring activities.

Summer Actitvities

Summers in Lake Park, Minnesota are fantastic. With lakes just minutes outside of Lake Park, you have a plethora of opportunities to go swimming, fishing, water skiing, inner-tubing and so much more. Take time to go visit the State and National Parks within a short drive of Lake Park or spend a weekend enjoying the very popular "WE-fest" Country Jamboree located outside of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Fall Activities

Fall is a cherished season for the avid outdoorsman in the Lake Park area. The region boasts a wide variety of water fowl hunting, pheasant hunting and of course deer hunting. Hiking is at a premium because of the amazing colors of the leaves on the trees and you can't go a Friday night without getting wrapped-up in the Lake Park-Audubon School sports events.

Detroit Mountain

Detroit Mountain was a family owned alpine ski operation for over 50 years. Shortly after it closed in 2004, local community members began discussing how the mountain could be revitalized into a year round recreational facility. With this vision in mind, Detroit Mountain Recreation Area, Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit. After many discussions and research, a campaign to "Bring Back Detroit Mountain" was launched. With incredible support from the local community and beyond, Detroit Mountain is back! Look at us now! In the winter of 2014, Detroit Mountain re- opened its beautiful new lodge and re-designed mountain for skiing and snowboarding. The mountain features an all new terrain park, tubing hill, and cross country ski trails. In spring, summer and fall of 2015, beautiful hiking trails with a special scenic outlook were added. Purpose-built biking trails were professionally designed and engineered to host all levels of mountain bike enthusiasts.

Rehabilitation Presentation - City Hall October 11th At 7:00 P.m.

Mary O'Brien with PAM Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota will be hosting a 30-minute presentation which is open to the public on what they do, and how they can help Lake Park residents if/when we may need them. PAM Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital has done this for several communities in the area, where the attendees are receptive and ask questions. The presentation will be at 7:00 p.m. at the City Hall on October 11th.
