SNOW REMOVAL PLAN

When snow falls in Lake Park, the city Public Works hits the streets. All snow fall is situational and depends on rate of snowfall, depth and wind. Snow removal begins in the early AM hours. Sidewalk snow removal typically begins following the snow event. Please understand your driveway and mailbox will receive snow when streets are cleaned.

Plowing schedule:
1.Vigen Lane, Raider Road and South 10 Drive
2.Fire Hall and Police building
3.Residential streets
 
*Keep in mind 2nd and Lake Street are cleared by Becker County.
 
SNOW EMERGENCY PLAN
ORDINANCE § 71.05 WINTER PARKING.
 
(A) Snow emergency. Whenever, in the opinion of the Street Superintendent, anemergency exists in the city, or in a section of sections thereof, because of snow, freezing rain, sleet, ice, phenomena, which create or are likely to create hazardous road conditions impeding, or likely to impede the free movement of fire, health, police, emergency, or other vehicular traffic, or the safety and welfare of the community, the Street Superintendent may declare an emergency to exist for a period of 72 hours, but the emergency may be sooner terminated if conditions permit. If the Street Superintendent is absent from the city or is unable to act, the emergency may be declared by the Chief of Police. Notice of such emergency shall be given by radio, television, or press, which news media shall be requested to cooperate with the city officials and when given such notice shall constitute due and proper notice. The notice shall specify the hour that the emergency commences and there shall be an interval of at least two hours between the first time that notice is given and the commencement of the emergency.
 
(B) Parking prohibited. During the period of emergency, no vehicle shall be parked orleft standing on any portion of any street or public roadway designated from time to time by resolution of the City Council as a snow emergency route from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Any vehicle so parked or left standing may be removed as provided in § 71.07.
 
(C) Resumption of parking. Parking may be resumed on individual streets in this area as soon as the snow removal or street cleaning operation is completed except as may be otherwise restricted by ordinance. Where parking is normally permitted only on one side of the street, vehicles parked pursuant to the aforesaid provisions may be parked on that side of the street only.
